I have been looking for this item for a very long time. THANK YOU!!!
Made 3 for Christmas. One for me, and one each for my two best friends in Chicago. I used it while making some of my Christmas Cookies, Rugelach, Kolachy, Cut out cookies, etc. The double thickness made it really easy to stay in place, and the lack of gluey flour mess was the best part. Because the filling in my rugelach was a bit messy, based on past experience, after rolling the dough into a round I transferred it onto a parchment paper to finish the project. I loved that the cloth stayed clean this way. When I sent the cloths, along with cookies and a few other goodies, to my friends I didn’t tell them what it was but told them I would contact them later. My one friend told me it was a great table runner. So, multitasking! Need to make another one for my sister who will be visiting this month. Thanks.
Hi, I hope it’s not too late to ask a question about this! I have been researching pastry cloths and this is the best I’ve come across but I just wanted to ask why this has been made double thickness rather than single and did you find it caused any creasing etc when rolling (or when your sister rolled!). I think I’ll make 3, 2 single thickness and 1 double but just thought I’d ask first. Thank you for sharing, I haven’t opened the sewing machine for about 20 years so I hope it’s still in its case! Cheers, Maree.
I wanted to say a huge 'Thank you!' For sharing this tutorial! I found it a few months ago when searching for a pastry cloth to purchase for my husband as part of his anniversary gift this year, and stored it away for when I found time to make it. When I found your tutorial I got really excited!! It was exactly what I wanted. I am still newish to sewing and your directions were so
