The Konica Pop-AF is a quality Japanese-made 35mm autofocus point-and-shoot from the late 1980s featuring a sharp 35mm f3.8 lens.

This is a somewhat uncommon camera and it's difficult to find much information on it online. I believe it was only sold for a brief period of time before being replaced by the A4 and Big Mini cameras (the original selling prices were similar in contemporary catalogs).

We weren't able to locate a manual but this is a very easy-to-use camera with only a few design eccentricities to bear in mind:

  1. You set the film speed manually via a slider on the camera's front (ISO 100, 200, 400, and 1000 are available). Note for advanced users: you can use this for mid-roll exposure compensation (eg if using ISO 400 film and your subject is strongly backlit, setting the slider to ISO 100 will give you an extra two stops of exposure).
  2. Both the film door and battery door need to be 'clicked' into place (they don't automatically spring closed as they do in most point-and-shoot designs)
  3. The camera's rewind is not automatic; you must hold down the rewind switch on the camera's bottom until you hear the film finish rewinding (it's quite fast)

This camera requires two AA batteries (not included)

Condition notes
We tested this camera with batteries and film installed (we did not process the film). All functions are working correctly. In addition, we verified the film plane focus accuracy with an autocollimator. The camera is in very good cosmetic condition.
