Congratulations to the JAL Scholarship recipient, 2010
Majoring in Japanese, Rita Yip has been awarded the 2010 JAL Foundation Japan Research Programme Scholarship, sponsored by the JAL Foundation of Japan Airlines. The scholarship includes full support for eight days of lodging in Nara and the Tokyo area, touring, interacting with Japanese university students, attending lectures, and experiencing a homestay.
Rita, who also majors in French and Law, will be in Japan between the 14th and the 21st of November, 2010. In her application essay she emphasised the fact that she intends to pursue a career in international diplomacy, possibly working with the United Nations or another international organisation.
The Japan Research Programme Scholarship is competitive, with screenings on campus followed by an interview, conducted in Japanese, at the Japan Airlines Auckland headquarters
