Guam Girls Scouts appoint Karina Quito as executive director

Guam Girl Scouts appointed Karina Quito to serve as the organization's new executive director.

The Guam Girls Scouts appointed Karina Quito to serve as the new executive director, according to an announcement from the organization. 

Quito is a graduate of John F. Kennedy High School and has more than 14 years of experience in program management and marketing in both the private and public sectors, the announcement stated. She also brings community involvement experience through various youth and performing arts programs.

“I look forward to working with Guam Girl Scouts to develop positive influences for our island youths. I am excited to engage with our community and work together toward our mission of building girls of courage, confidence and character, who make our world a better place," Quito said. "I truly believe that such acts are effective ways to invest in our island and our future."

The Guam Girl Scouts is open to all girls, ages 5 to 17, according to the announcement. There are currently more than 18 troops across the island. 

“I’m excited to welcome Karina to the Guam Girl Scouts,” said John Reyes Jr., board president of the organization. “She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the organization and am confident that she will embody leadership, empowerment and promoting G.I.R.L — Go-getter, Innovator, Risk-taker, Leader."

Guam Girl Scouts participants enjoy activities including environmental care, sports, art, music, service projects, career exploration, cultural diversity celebrations and summer camp, the announcement stated.
