In the past I've made my own substrate to transfer my spawn jars to. My results were ok and I was satisfied. This time I chose to purchase a substrate. There is an amazing difference between what I produce myself and using this substrate. The fruiting occurred much faster which helps to reduce bad bacteria growth, there was a large increase in the amount of pins, and the mushrooms are larger, healthier looking, and meatier.

The product is priced well, it arrived quickly and packaged well with care instructions, the soil/Substrate is a gorgeous dark color with a great healthy smell, and I am a very satisfied customer. I won't make my own anymore, it is worth purchasing this product for amazing results!

This easily is the best substrate I have found. I have had no issue, no contamination and perfectly hydrated...not too wet not to dry...didnt use right away, kept in the fridge for the first 3 weeks and was still perfectly hydrated. Used Half the bag in my mono tub and got my first massive successful flush. Left the other half of the bag in a cool spot and 3 weeks later it is still perfectly hydrated. Can't ask for more.

I didn't get any yield it was slow and all I got was contam. I know what I'm doing I have done this for a long time I know how to do things sterile everything was sterile there is no reason why I should have had mold growing everywhere with no sign of mushrooms at all. Going back to good old North spore... More expensive but worth it I trust it it's never failed me I've never had any time I always have high yield. Just the shipping that kills me too expensive to pay for literally s*** to be delivered to your house. However if you know it works stick to what you know. I've tried other brands on Amazon and still nothing compares to North spore
