Triangle Kimbap

One type of kimbap is the triangle kimbap (In Korean, it is called 삼각김밥). Steamed white rice is the main ingredient. The rice is shaped in a triangle-shape. Then you make a hole and stuff it with a tune/mayonnaise mixture. After that, you wrap it with kim, which is a sheet of dried laver seaweed.

Although it can be made independently, some people buy it at a convenience store. They frequently eat it in place of a meal. The shelf life of one is about one day. Convenience stores provide a variety of triangle kimbap. The price range these days is 1600 ~ 2000 won. Oh, the inflation!! Isn't it great?

[History of Kimbab]
The first triangular kimbap was made in Japan. The name was Onigiri at first. It served as a fast food option during the war as it was easy to carry around. In Korea, triangle kimbap first appeared in the 1990s. Later on, Seven-Eleven (7-11) started selling it in 1991. Then it was sold at GS25 and Family Mart. Triangular kimbap comes in many varieties these days.

What's your favorite kimbab?
