New looks inside Brooklyn’s tallest office building

While One Willoughby Square may not be the tallest building in the borough, it now holds the distinction of being Brooklyn’s tallest office building. The tower near City Point has officially topped out at its full 495-foot height, and the developers took the occasion to unveil new renderings of its interiors.

The 500,000-square-foot structure, designed by FXCollaborative and developed by JEMB Realty, is now the tallest office building in the borough. The developers say its design was inspired by industrial lofts, but with the amenities that office dwellers have come to expect in the 21st century.

“[The building’s] design promotes social interaction and natural connectivity throughout, from the amenity spaces and numerous exterior terraces, to its wide‐open, light-filled work environments,” Dan Kaplan, senior partner of FXCollaborative, who conceived the building’s design, said in a statement. FXCollaborative will be the building’s anchor tenant.

The office spaces range from 12,000 to 14,500 square feet, and will have large windows, high ceilings, and views of Prospect Park and the New York Harbor. Newmark Knight Frank will handle leasing.

Located at 420 Albee Square, the building is expected to be completed in late 2020.
