Resinous Polypore

Habitat: saprobe on dead trees either standing, fallen or stumps

Form changes over time. Usually attached to wood like a half circle shelf, "shelfs" can overlap. Center is dark red-brown with whitish edge.

ON THE LANDSCAPE

This is not a common polypore mushroom. Look for it on dead deciduous wood, occasionally on coniferous trees in the Pacific Northwest.
