Top 10 most popular baby names of 2020 released, familiar names taking the top spots

DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF) -- The most popular baby names for 2020 has finally been released, and the top names are the same as they were in 2019.

For the second year in a row, Olivia, Emma, and Ava are the top three names for baby girls – with Olivia taking the #1 spot; and Liam, Noah, and Oliver are the top three names for baby boys – with Liam taking the top spot.

Perhaps it’s the uncertainty of the times, but most families seem to be choosing to stick with familiar names for their newborn babies, as between 2019 and 2020 only two names in the top 10 lists changed – with Henry and Alexander edging out Mason and Ethan. Henry in particular has been rising steadily in popularity, appearing in the Top 10 for the first time since 1910.
